Well well another important player Rinku singh couldn’t make a position in the 15 member squad for t20 world cup. A consistent performance on all platforms like ipl and international cricket didn’t push the selectors.
I think the major selection theory that is guiding selectors is the paramount importance given to all rounders. I have shared a similar opinion in my hardik pandya article. Rinku singh is a good batsmen there is no doubt about it but he is not an allrounder. Akshar patel who is more allrounder than him is successful in making his place in the world cup t20 squad.
With Hardik Pandya and Jadeja inclusion Indian cricket team is very particular about strengthening its all rounder. All other teams like defending world cup champions englands have a good repository of all rounder players that can fit both roles of batting and fielding.
Rinku singh doesn’t need to lose hope. He is a good player but the requirements in the Indian cricket team are different. I think management will nurture him more into a finishing role that hardik pandya is currently playing.
He will get more chances in international cricket that will help him in becoming a more formidable player. So chances are bright for him in the near future.
